Visitor Information Specialist
Summary The Visitor Information
Specialist is currently a part-time position and one that supports the
Executive Director in the strategic and tactical operation of the Statesville
Convention and Visitors Bureau. Duties
will primarily include visitor support from daily visits to the Visitors
Center, responding to requests for information from email or website inquiries,
administrative duties and other duties as may be required in support of the
Executive Director. Responsibilities ·
Staffing of the
Information Center from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, four days a week. ·
Providing
guidance and information for visitors to the Visitors Center ·
Answering telephones
and email requests for information ·
Keeping current
on events, activities and tourism assets in the Greater Statesville area ·
Keep the
Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau website updated ·
Update the NC
Tourism site with events and other tourism assets ·
Keep the
information racks supplied with information, brochures, etc. as necessary ·
Attend Board,
committee meetings or other meetings as requested in order to record minutes ·
Other duties and
responsibilities as needed in support of the Executive Director Qualifications ·
Warm, engaging
and pleasant personality ·
Professional
appearance ·
Strong customer
service skills with a particular focus on delighting visitors to Statesville ·
Problem solver ·
Knowledge of
Statesville, its surrounding communities and the various hotels, attractions
and events in the community ·
Knowledge of computers
and Microsoft Office applications, in particular ·
Organization and
administrative skills including setting priorities and meeting deadlines ·
Flexibility and
willingness to do what is necessary to make the Statesville Convention and
Visitors Bureau successful Compensation This position is for 32 hours

An extended season for Piedmont HealthCare's Friday After Five concerts. Final event of this season's popular summer street concert series featuring The Catalinas. Produced by the Downtown Statesville Development Corporation and the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce, the free concerts will be held the second and fourth Friday of the month through September 10th. Bring your lawn chair and your dancing shoes to enjoy a great evening of music with friends. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase. The 2010 Concert Series is sponsored by Piedmont HealthCare, the City of Statesville, United Federal Credit Union and Silver Eagle Distributors.
